Introducing Our Handcrafted Timber Handle Collection

Elevate Your Interiors with Handcrafted Timber Cabinetry Handles

A celebration of craftsmanship, sustainability, and the beauty of timber.

At Bombora, we’ve always been driven by our love of timber. It tells a story—etched in grain, coloured by time, shaped by nature. It brings a sense of warmth, depth and groundedness to any space. And for a long time we’ve had a growing desire to take the smaller offcuts from our furniture-making process—those beautiful pieces too good to waste—and turn them into something functional, beautiful, and full of life.

That’s how our timber handle range was born.

All Timber Handle Styles from Bombora

From Offcuts to Artful Touches

These handles began as a humble idea: to honour the material we love most by using every last piece of it. In our Torquay workshop, offcuts from custom vanities, dining tables, and sideboards were too beautiful to discard. We knew they still had work to do—still had beauty to offer.

So off to the timber lathe Luke went, creating one of a kind hand turned pieces which are now our Crescent and Harvest Moon handles. Falling in love with this new opportunity for creativity, Luke then developed a range of cabinet handles. The raw shape is cut on a CNC machine and then hand-sanded and finished to ensure a delicious touchability. As with the rest of our furniture, Luke design the handles to be functional yet have a timeless design that honors the beauty of the timber.

Why Timber? Because it Belongs.

There’s something timeless about timber. It doesn’t follow trends; it outlives them. It has a natural ability to soften clean lines and bring heart to modern interiors. Timber is versatile, tactile, and deeply grounding. And when used thoughtfully—even in something as small as a handle—it can completely transform a space.

Think of these pieces as punctuation marks. Small moments of beauty that tie spaces together. Timber kitchen handles that echo the tones of a nearby dining table. A curved pull on a kitchen drawer that softens stone and tile. A gentle nod to nature in all parts of the home.

Sustainably Made, Locally Crafted

Our handle collection is made at our solar-powered workshop in Torquay on the Victorian Surf Coast. We work with real timber—not stains—sourced sustainably, including recycled Messmate and a selection of beautiful Australian and imported hardwoods such as Tasmanian Blackwood, American Oak, Blackbutt, Chestnut, and Walnut.

Each handle is either shaped by hand or hand-finished in small batches, allowing the character of the timber to shine. No two are ever quite the same—and that’s exactly how we like it!

By choosing to reuse offcuts for our hand turned pieces, we reduce waste and honour the full value of the material. It’s a small gesture with a big impact—part of our ongoing commitment to conscious craftsmanship.

Thoughtful Design for Every Door and Drawer

While small in size, our handcrafted timber handles offer big potential when it comes to thoughtful interior design. As cabinetry handles, they offer a tactile and organic alternative to mass-produced metal option—bringing a sense of heart and intention to every cupboard, drawer, or panel they grace.

Our kitchen cabinetry handles are more than just functional elements—they're details that help define the space. Whether you’re updating an existing layout or designing your dream kitchen from the ground up, these handles become subtle focal points that complement any style of kitchen. The warmth of timber pairs beautifully with cabinetry, offering a gentle contrast that’s both contemporary and timeless.

Looking beyond the kitchen, these handles bring unity across your home. Use them as wardrobe pulls, bathroom vanity handles, or even on custom joinery in a hallway or home office. We’ve seen them used creatively on everything from front door handles that welcome you with character, to linen cupboards and bedside tables that feel connected by a common thread of natural materiality.

Because of their versatility and visual impact, our cabinetry handles are an ideal choice for those seeking to bring cohesion across multiple rooms. They allow you to echo a timber tone throughout your home, creating a visual language that feels harmonious and intentional.

Timber Options

Our handle collection begins with the timber itself—carefully selected for its tone, texture, and character. Every species brings something unique to the table. From the warm honey hues of recycled Messmate to the deep, chocolate tones of Walnut, each timber tells a different story, inviting you to find the one that resonates with your space.

We use either recycled or sustainably sourced timbers, giving new life to materials that would otherwise be discarded.

Recycled Messmate – richly varied and full of character, with grain patterns that feel alive

Tasmanian Blackwood – warm and golden, with a subtle shimmer and fine texture

Select Blackbutt – pale and creamy with minimal feature, perfect for a clean, modern aesthetic

American Oak – uniquely grained and honey toned, a versatile choice for many styles of homes

Australian Chestnut – blone toned and strait grained, the ultimate in malleability

Walnut – dark, sophisticated, and timeless

Each timber brings a sense of authenticity, grounding your interiors in the beauty of nature and offering a quiet luxury that doesn’t need to shout.

Finish Options

We offer three finish options so you can choose the right level of protection for your project.

Interior Osmo – Our most popular option, this plant-based hardwax oil enhances the timber’s natural tone while providing a durable, satin-matte finish. Ideal for kitchens, wardrobes, and dry zones. This finish is only suitable for handles that will be indoors.

Exterior Osmo – The finish for door handles that will be outside. This finish offers added protection against moisture and UV light while still highlighting the beauty of the timber.

Raw (Unfinished) – For designers or makers who want full control over the final look. The timber is supplied sanded and ready to apply your own finish.

Fixing Options

We offer a range of fixing styles to suit the different handle applications.

Blind Fixing – This fixing option is for attaching handles onto solid timber doors such as a front door. This ensures that the fixing cannot be seen from the other side of the door. This is only suitable when screwing into a thick solid surface.

Screw Fixing – For attaching handles to cabinetry. These are M4 - 23mm long screws with a housed threaded insert screw in the handle.
