Barwon Heads House Project

This stunning Barwon Heads home pairs polished concrete floors with white walls and lots of solid wood cabinetry such as timber vanities and wardrobes.

A cohesive flow was achieved in the interior design of this beautiful home by incorporating timber elements in every space. Messmate wood was selected for this project as its warm brown tone complemented the window frames, and the black sap lines tied in with other black elements throughout the home. The home's luxe industrial interior design features concrete, dark grey, black, and wooden cabinetry. The large windows throughout the home allow for ample natural light and stunning views of the gardens.

Custom timber vanities

An Avoca timber vanity was installed in each of the bathrooms of this beautiful home. The colour scheme of white, concrete, and black was continued throughout the wet rooms, and wooden vanities were added to provide a warm and luxurious touch to these spaces. The client chose recycled Messmate for the project, with a low to medium sap line feature level. The subtle sap lines ensured that the timber vanities would stand out in the bathrooms without visually dominating the space. A wooden bathroom cabinet was also built in the master bathroom to add scale and additional storage.

Wardrobe wooden cabinetry

The custom timber wardrobe is the ultimate in luxury! The wooden cabinetry was designed to have a combination of drawers, hanging and cupboard storage as well as beautiful display shelves. Recycled Messmate timber was continued through this space with the grain running vertically to enhance the sense of height in the room.

Floating wooden TV units

To complement the spaciousness of the rooms in this stunning home, we custom-designed and constructed large wall-mounted timber TV units made of Australian hardwood timber. The Luna TV cabinet features a combination of cupboards and open display cubes to create a balanced look, while providing ample opportunities for styling. The recycled Messmate used in the construction of the wooden TV units showcases a beautiful sap line and grain that runs across the fronts, creating a sense of flow and continuity.

Recycled Messmate wooden dining table

The client has chosen a Messmate Jan Juc wooden dining table to complete their space. The table features a modern twist on the classic box leg design, with angled legs that are in line with the contemporary aesthetic of the home. The table can seat 10 people comfortably, and can easily accommodate 12 with the addition of extra chairs at the ends. The angled box legs of the table are a striking contrast against the black dining chairs and concrete floors. The table has been finished with Osmo, a natural oil and wax finish that is hard-wearing, easy to care for, and low in toxins.
