Maintenance

To ensure that the wood remains protected from the sun and UV light, you need to ensure that the Osmo UV Protection oil is reapplied. The frequency will depend on the amount of UV exposure. As a guide, for a wooden outdoor table in full sun, reapplication would be recommended every 3 months. For a wooden door that is protected from all light, reapply every 12 months.

How to apply Osmo UV protection oil

Clean the surface - Napisan can be used to give the surface a good clean. Firstly spray down the surface with a high pressure cleaner to remove the worst of the dust and dirt. Mix up a cap full of napisan in a litre of water and brush onto the surface. Use a high pressure cleaner to rinse off the product. It is suggested to avoid sanding the surface if possible as this tends to push the dirt into the grain rather than removing it.
Allow to dry - Ensure that the surface has been allowed to fully dry, this may take up to 2 days in cold cloudy weather.
Apply finish - Use a quality small microfibre roller to apply the UV protector oil in the direction of the grain.
Allow to dry - The product should be dry in 12 hours.
